About

Today’s deeply interconnected crises - climate change, biodiversity loss and inequality - are increasingly threatening our lives, and especially the most vulnerable and future generations. While scientific evidence is clear on the need for large structural changes, political and societal action remains insufficient.

In this context, we believe philanthropy can play a role by supporting organisations that address the root causes of these issues and stand with the most vulnerable communities, who bear the brunt of the impacts. The foundation is in its inception, and we are working on defining strategy and priorities with guidance from experts, practitioners, and partners.

The Foundation was established by the Lund family in 2024 and is registered in the Norwegian philanthropic registry. For registration and more information, see this page.

Recognising the urgency of today’s challenges, we will aim to redistribute the Foundation’s funds over the next 15-20 years.

The foundation takes inspiration from Anne Margrethe Lund, who coined the Norwegian term værekraft to describe the inherent value and strength in people and nature. You can read more about Anne Margrethe and værekraft here.
