About

The Værekraft Foundation exists to support a future where everyone can live fulfilling lives within the planet's ecological limits.

Today’s deeply interconnected crises - climate change, biodiversity loss, inequality, and health - are increasingly threatening the fabric of our lives. While scientific evidence is clear on the need for large structural changes, political and societal action remains insufficient. 

In this context, we believe philanthropy can play a role by supporting organisations that address the root causes of these issues and stand with the most vulnerable communities, who bear the brunt of the impacts. 

The Foundation was established by the Lund family in 2024 and is registered in the Norwegian philanthropic registry. For registration and more information, see this page.

The foundation is in its inception, and we are working on defining strategy and priorities with guidance from experts, practitioners, and partners.

How we aim to work

We aim to build long-term and trust-based partnerships with organisations that work innovatively and collaboratively for lasting impact.

Recognising the urgency of today’s challenges, we will aim to redistribute all our funds the next 15 years.

At this stage, we are not taking unsolicited applications.
